He has a cat named Newton and a male-servant named Prahllad living in the house. Satyajit Ray introduced Professor Shonku in his story “The Astronaut’s Diary.” The protagonist of his science-fiction novels is Professor Shonku. Professor Shonku’s father Tripureshwar was a physician, and he was born on June 16. Tilu is the nickname of Professor Shonku. At the age of 12, Professor Shonku passed matriculation examination. At the age of 16, Professor Shonku received his BSc degree in honors Physics and Chemistry. Swarnaparnee, in Satyajit Ray’s last finished novel of Professor Shonku series, which was initially published in Anandamela children’s magazine in 1992. Nobody ever tried Bengali science fiction before him. So, it was an audacious job. If we compare the logic of science, the stories may be weakened. If we concentrate on the storyline, it’s incredible. In portraying Shanku’s inventions MR. Ray was creative like “Botika India. Overall its another brilliant work of Satyajit Ray, which will sooth the readers very much. You can guess the end that some of the stories have the same plots which may bore some readers. Serious science fiction lovers may find some stories illogical. The best Bengali science fiction book of my reading list. I enjoyed it fully. The great physicist Professor Shanku is the auspicious creation of Satyajit Ray. The genius though, and discovery of Prof. Shanku is worth reading. Probably the first science fiction I read. First, read it 13 years back, and I still read it now.
